Yawnly is operated from Bengaluru, India. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information Yawnly collects, how we use it, and your rights.

Who uses Yawnly

Yawnly is designed for parents and guardians. Parents sign in, create dreamer profiles, and generate stories on behalf of their children. Children do not interact with the app directly or create accounts.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address. We store the dreamer profile you create (name, age group, preferences) and the stories generated for your account. We also collect basic usage and crash data through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to improve the app experience. We do not sell your data to third parties.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to personalize and deliver your bedtime stories, manage your subscription, and send optional bedtime reminder notifications (which you can turn off at any time).

Third-party services

To generate stories, we send age group and preferences to third-party AI providers. No personally identifiable information is sent to these providers — the dreamer's name is stripped before generation and re-inserted after. These providers process data solely to generate story content and do not use it for model training. We use Firebase (Google) for analytics and crash reporting. Subscription billing is handled by Google Play or the App Store — we never see your payment details.

Data storage

Your data is stored securely on AWS servers in the Asia-Pacific region (ap-northeast-2). Access is restricted and encrypted in transit.

Privacy

Yawnly does not allow children to create accounts or interact with the app directly. All dreamer profile data is created and managed by a parent or guardian. During setup, you confirm that you are 18 years or older and the parent or legal guardian of the child. You may view, edit, or delete your dreamer's profile at any time from the app.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your account and dreamer profile data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, including any backups.
